Warwickshire SENDIASS

Warwickshire SENDIASS provides information, advice and support to disabled children and young people, and those with SEN from birth to 25, and their parents living in Warwickshire. 'Young people' means those aged between 16 and 25 years who can contact us independently if they wish to do so.

Introduction to the Information Advice and Support Service

A short animation funded by the Department for Education to help children and young people with SEND and their parents learn about the service and support on offer from their local "Information Advice and Support Service" and how a local IASS team can be contacted - including how to access the national Helpline provided by Contact.


Who are Connect 4 Health?

Connect 4 Health service is for all school-aged children (age 5 to 19, or up to 25 for individuals with SEND) and their parents/carers – regardless of whether they attend a mainstream school.

The team includes a range of healthcare professionals, who can offer you support with topics such as:

  • Healthy eating
  • Dental health
  • Friendships and relationships
  • Bullying
  • Anxieties about changing schools
  • Parenting
  • Behaviour
  • Fussy eating
  • Sleep
  • Continence
  • Referral onto additional services
  • Emotional wellbeing including stress and anxiety

And many more.

Support can be provided in a way that suits you, including:

  • Individually, face-to-face or by phone
  • In group workshops
  • Via our confidential text messaging services for young people and parents/carers

The Nest Approach: Supporting children with meltdowns.
  • Community Autsim Service (CASS) This service provides support to parents and children pre and post diagnosis for children in Warwickshire. CASS offer support focussing on understanding, communication, sensory integration, processing, behaviour, self-esteem and daily routines and activities. Parents can self-refer via CASS Navigation helpline 02476 012 333
  • Autism West Midlands Autism West Midlands provide ideas and help with calming strategies, distraction techniques, transitions and routines, dealing with behaviours which are challenging
  • The Recovery and Wellbeing Academy The Recovery and Wellbeing Academy offer online courses for parents on a variety of issues around ASD, emotional regulation, anxiety, low mood, self-harm, parenting etc
  • Support for children with sensory needs For children with sensory processing needs occupational therapy service provides support to parents and carers to develop a better understanding of sensory systems and explore strategies that enable parents to provide a responsive approach to meeting children’s sensory needs.
  • The Girl with the Curly Hair The Curly Hair Project is an organisation that helps people on the autistic spectrum and the people around them, founded by autistic author Alis Rowe. The project uses animated films, stories, comic strips and diagrams to make their work interesting and easy to understand!
