Year 6 have been creating Autobiography Islands, each one shaped like the first letter of their name. Every island is packed with the things that make them who they are: their likes and dislikes, favourite hobbies, family, friends and memorable moments from their lives so far.
They added keys and compass roses to help visitors find their way, and we spotted some brilliant landmarks along the way, from a chocolate river and a capybara park to a chicken nugget river and a royal garden! 🍫🧭

Year 3 have been exploring Stone Age art, using chalk to draw bison inspired by real prehistoric cave paintings. They looked closely at the shapes and techniques early artists used thousands of years ago, building up their bison from simple shapes before blending and smudging to bring them to life.

🎃 Encouraging Curiosity 🎃
Our Reception children decided to turn their pumpkins into a volcano! They watched carefully as the mixture fizzed and bubbled up and over the pumpkins, and used their investigation words to describe what they could see.
💬 "It's fizzy!"
💬 "It's bubbling!"
💬 "I can see green!"
💬 "I know, it's like a volcano!"
We love seeing our youngest learners asking questions and exploring the world around them. 🌋

🧸 Who Has More? 🧸
In Maths, our Reception children have been learning to understand "more". They used teddies, a hedgehog and lots of counters to compare groups and work out who has more.
We loved hearing their mathematical talk:
💬 "The hedgehog has more, I can see he has 5."
💬 "The teddy has 4, the hedgehog has 2."
💬 "The teddy has more now, I can just see it."

🛡️ Roman Shields! 🛡️
Year 4 have been busy creating their very own Roman shields as part of their learning about the Romans. Inspired by the shields carried by Roman soldiers, they painted bold red and black backgrounds, cut out lightning bolts and wings, and added a shiny boss in the centre.

🪨 Stone Age Style! 🪨
Year 3 have loved stepping back in time with their Stone Age topic. They designed, created and evaluated their very own Stone Age jewellery, shaping clay pendants and threading them into necklaces, just as people may have done thousands of years ago.
They planned their designs carefully and worked hard to bring them to life.

💚 Together We Can Make a Difference 💚
Our Year 5 pupils have been putting Catholic Social Teaching into action by designing their own charitable campaigns, from a food bank collection to "Don't need it, donate it!"
They thought carefully about who needs help, how their campaign could help them, and how to encourage others to join in. Along the way they drew on our values and virtues: being grateful and generous, and compassionate and loving.

🌟 Meet our pupil leaders for this year! 🌟
Our Heads of School have been leading our school since September, and they have already been wonderful role models for the whole school. 💛
Our house captains were chosen by the children themselves through a democratic vote. It was a great way to put our British value of democracy into action! 🗳️
