Shikshak Vandan Diwas 🎉 Teacher Appreciation Day
Last Sunday, Ms Rutkowski, Mrs Orphanides and Miss McDonnell were invited by HSS(UK) to celebrate Shikshak Vandan Diwas.
Teachers' Appreciation Day is conducted every year at HSS(UK) activity centers to recognise the contribution of teachers to the society and felicitate them to express gratitude and respect. The 'Sanskar Baal Shakha' , Leamington branch of HSS(UK) held this function on 1st March 2026, and was attended by 12 teachers from six different schools in Leamington. This felicitation is an extension of the Hindu and Indian culture which accords the teachers also known as Guru in Sanskrit, highest importance after parents in a child's life. The children honoured their teachers by giving hand made cards, flowers and touching the teachers' feet, a form of namaste that expresses the highest form of respect and reverence. The children also performed a role play skit explaining the importance of teachers and the function. They also showcased the different activities of Yoga, games, group musical performance that they enjoy in the weekly meeting.
Thank you HSS UK (Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh) Leamington for inviting us to this special event!
